Kakan Hermansson is a celebrated feminist, writer, broadcaster and artist. Her work in ceramics has challenged conventions and the handcrafted pots have generated widespread attention in Sweden, representing a raw and organic aesthetic somewhere between everyday object and sculpture. Her ceramics, produced in small quantities, sell out quickly. For this collaboration with The High Road Candle, Kakan has handcrafted each piece.

Kakans own words:

“Although I wear many hats, being an artist is my core identity. I love working with clay since you cannot fully control it. Every candle pot has my fingerprints and the result is unique and imperfect, just like you. Save it after you've burnt the candle, and use it as a vase, sculpture - or why not a toothbrush cup?” 

This handcrafted ceramic candle is made from natural unglazed clay with a raw finish. Each piece is completely unique in size, shape and form. We recommend placing the candle on a tray or plate before lighting it.

Trim wick to ¼” prior to lighting it for the first time. Burn no longer than 4 hours at a time. Allow  to cool before re-lighting. The candle comes with either one or two wicks, depending on size and form of your unique piece.
